Just back from Glasgow. Congratulations to Mike CR for organising a brilliantly spirited exhibition to coincide with the Scottish Referendum. And for including my work – Without Scotland.

There was a certain expectancy in the air of Glasgow – we spoke with those for and against independence and could empathise with both points of view. We woke up on the Sunday morning to headlines of YES going ahead in a poll for the first time. Now the whole country seems to have woken up to the prospect of a UK without Scotland. Before our visit I thought if I were Scottish I would be excited about the chance to be part of a newly independent country. But now, as an Englishman I feel nervous about this possibility – a reduced UK without the wondrous Scotland. I’m not sure I want that.

Now the whole country seems to have woken up to the prospect of a UK without Scotland.
