HELP

Bee screen print graphic design illustration norwich UK

The bees need help! A few months ago I heard a radio news article about the plight of the bees and the steps being taken to encourage the population of the UK to grow more nectar rich plants to help bees survive and prosper.

Bees are responsible for pollinating 90 per cent of the commercial crops that are grown around the world. If their population continues to decline – our food production will be threatened. According to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust ‘Bumblebees are mainly under threat because of changes to the countryside in the UK. Changes in agricultural techniques have meant that there are far fewer wildflowers in the landscape than there used to be, meaning that many of our bumblebee species are struggling to survive.’ bumblebeeconservation.org

This is the eighth installment of my 12x2014 series. I have no agenda – just to take an idea and apply it to a screen print. Do one every month in 2014 and initially print 12 of each design, using GFSmith Colourplan paper.

If their population continues to decline – our food production will be threatened.
