Norwich Spine Clinic came needed: 1) a professional, fitting visual identity; 2) a website that people enjoy using; 3) information on spinal problems presented in a manner accessible to existing and potential patients; and 4) a confidential and straightforward referral system.
With traditional professions, people like to be reassured with design and content they associate with that profession. That means creating a visually compelling website when typical sites in the medical profession are not visually compelling is a difficult task. Scott overcame this by keeping things as simple as possible…
Perhaps the biggest challenge was rewriting all the content so it was more appropriate to the audience, when the surgeons themselves were too busy to help. Tasked with writing the copy, Kate spent a lot of time researching so she could better explain things, while Scott’s design helped present the information clearly with careful use of headings and other text elements.
Building the confidential referral system meant a secure connection hosting a form and a very simple login so the administrative staff could retrieve the referral at the other end.
Feedback from Norwich Spine Clinic has been very positive and they often direct people to the website to help familiarise them with how the spine works. The site also does a good job of helping people understand spinal problems better.
